For purposes of using nec table 310.15 - "pv" wire is not specifically listed - do you treat it as use-2, xhhw, or xhhw-2?

Comments

Although PV wire is not shown in NEC Table 310.15(B)(16), it has a temperature rating of 90ºC in exposed or concealed wet and dry environments. Therefore, one will use the 75ºC and 90ºC columns for conductor sizing depending on circuit characteristics and which calculation is being made (690.8(B)(1) or 690.8(B)(2)).  Further, one should review the manufacturer's data sheet specific to the conductor in question.  Most data sheets include NEC ampacity tables.
