Magnelab is a current transformer manufacturer founded in 1968 by Carl Forsberg in Boulder, Colorado. Under the original name of Magnetek, Carl began manufacturing technology, such as simple antenna coils to complex military switching transformers from his home.
In 1995, Solomon Corporation, a manufacturer of current transformers, enclosers, and regulators for electrical utilities and industries, purchased Magnelab. That year, Magnelab moved into a new 16,000 square foot facility in Longmont, Colorado, approximately 35 miles north of Denver.
Magnelab is currently owned by Manutech, based in Miami, Florida. Manutech has been designing and manufacturing all types of magnetic components for more than 45 years and employs 350 people in its offshore facility.
