INVERTER BATTERY CURRENT

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM CURRENT A CHARGE CONTROLLER CAN TAKE FROM BATTERIES SINCE THIS IS NOT USUALLY WRITTEN ON THE CHARGE CONTROLLERS?

Comments

Thanks for the question Anon.

With most charge controllers, there are a few expetions, try not to think of them as a load.  They simply apply the energy from the array to the battery bank with little draw on that battery at all.  This minor draw is sometimes in the 5-10 Watt range and is what allows the charger to continue to display data from the bank on thier LCD screen.

In the case of chargers that act as load controllers, the maximum draw can be found on the datasheet for that charger.

I hope that helps shed a bit of light on your question, but if you have followup questions feel free to respond here.
