Account Manager

We are looking for candidates with a passion to become a domain expert in PV system design and sell solar solutions to installers and developers nationwide. A great plus if you also have 1-2 years of solar equipment sales and/or solar installation experience with an interest to succeed in a phone sales environment. You should be a results driven problem solver, self-motivated, unafraid of challenges, an astute decision-maker, and an overall team player. We are looking for teammates who are intellectually bright, continuously strive for improvement, and possess integrity.

Location: San Francisco, CA or Boston, MA
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Execute sales of solar electric power systems and related products and services to solar installers, developers, and property owners.
  • Evaluate the customer's energy needs, available space, shading issues, electrical service limitations, and aesthetic concerns to arrive at a suitable recommendation for the solar electric system size and configuration. 
  • Identify, isolate and overcome customer concerns and objections. 
  • Accurately execute all contractual documents with customer including paperwork associated with procuring solar equipment. 
  • Prepare a roof sketch with measurements and build project quotes.
  • Follow-up with prospective customers, give an accounting of specific status of all leads and produce regular sales reports. 
  • Aid in performance of customer contact functions throughout permitting and installation processes. 
  • Support the company in assuring customer satisfaction. 
  • Aid in retrieval of customer payments.
  • Attend company meetings, work trade shows, attend seminars and perform other sales related functions as needed. 

The successful candidate is likely to have: 

  • Desire to become domain expert in PV system design.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or equivalent.
  • Experience installing solar equipment and/or experience selling solar projects.
  • Proven communicator—verbal and written. 
  • Demonstrated ability to close sales orders. 
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

Regional Sales Manager

Job Description: 

Manage a team of Account Managers to achieve sales and margin objectives.  Provide leadership and consultation to direct reports, exemplifying company dedication to customer service and ongoing personal development.  Execute sales strategy, and support team in the building of lasting, high-value customer relationships.

Primary Duties:

  • Lead team of direct reports to exceed sales goals.
  • Recruit, hire, and constantly improve team of up to 10 solar sales professionals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, support, analysis, and information to increase direct reports’ success.
  • Coordinate regular trainings to improve direct reports’ solar design expertise and account management acumen.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings and pipeline reviews.
  • Motivate team to meet performance goals in customer engagement and
  • Personally support sales process whenever necessary and ensure customer satisfaction.

Drupal Developer

We are seeking a well-rounded, jack-of-all trades, web developer with the following qualities:

  • Solid XHTML/CSS/Javascript skills
  • Solid LAMP programming experience
  • Experience using the command line
  • Experience with the Drupal theming layer
  • Some understanding of the Drupal framework and it’s various APIs
  • Basic experience writing custom Drupal modules
  • A good attitude and an eagerness to learn best practices Drupal development in a group setting
  • Understanding of version control concepts, Subversion preferred
  • Appreciation of quality UI design
  • Availability to work in-house (Downtown San Francisco) a minimum of three days a week. Some off-site is OK

Electrical Engineer

Position Title: Electrical Engineer

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed electrical designs for commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic power projects
  • Assist project managers by resolving technical issues relating to electrical construction and
  • interconnection
  • Specify appropriate components, prepare Bills of Material, develop cost estimates and identify suitable
  • vendors
  • Provide inspection and troubleshooting in the field
  • Interface with electrical contractors and building authorities
  • Prepare calculations and drawings for permitting and approvals in accordance with NEC and applicable
  • building codes
  • Support sales and proposal activities
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate is likely to have: 

  • At least 5 years of experience performing electrical power system design
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required
  • PE certification in Electrical Engineering required
  • PE certification in California preferred
  • Experience working in the commercial construction industry and/or solar industry preferred

  • Manage our social media presence and marketing.
  • Help design and deploy customer satisfaction surveys.

  • Work with the sales department to create customized and personalized promotional campaigns for our rapidly growing customer base.
  • Help create and manage strategic content for our value-added partnership programs (with a variety of strategic partners)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales activities of the company through keeping the content in the website up-to-date, particularly product merchandising, pricing and availability of products from multiple vendors.
  • Evaluate the customers' energy needs, available space, shading issues, electrical service limitations, and aesthetic concerns to arrive at a suitable recommendation for the solar electric system size and configuration.
  • Support the sales team in designing effective solar calculators, tools, tables, charts and other platforms which will help generating revenues.
  • Support the efforts of the sales team for the sales of solar electric power systems and related products and services the company may offer.
  • Perform research and analysis on products while answering customers' technical questions and gathering reports.
  • Attend company meetings, work trade shows, attend seminars and perform other sales related functions as needed.

The successful candidate is likely to have: 

  • Studying towards a degree in engineering, science, economics or equivalent majors.

Technical Sales Manager

The Technical Sales Manager’s primary role is to provide the deepest possible understanding of PV design, engineering, and construction issues as they arise during daily customer interactions. At CivicSolar we are determined to respond quickly to customer inquiries through our Account Managers - and then provide absolute confidence to our customers through our technical sales department. The technical sales manager must have enough experience to be the de facto authority at any level of customer and/or manufacturer facing communication for residential and commercial scale PV projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support sales of solar electric power systems and related products and services to solar installers, developers, and property owners.
  • Evaluate the customer’s energy needs, available space, shading issues, electrical service limitations, and aesthetic concerns to arrive at a suitable recommendation for the solar electric system size and configuration, where needed, to assist Account Managers.
  • Identify, isolate and overcome customer concerns and objections.
  • Fully understand the proposed equipment options and suitability for the project site.
  • Interface with in-house and contracted engineering firms to supply any details required for completion of full construction documentation.
  • Assist customers via phone and e-mail to solve permitting, construction and inspection issues.
  • Assist customers via phone and e-mail, where needed, for system start up and commissioning.
  • Support the company in assuring customer satisfaction.
  • Attend company meetings, attend seminars, host trainings and perform other product and engineering related functions as needed.

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • Domain expertise in PV system design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years experience installing solar equipment and/or experience selling solar projects.
  • 3-5 years experience as an electrical foreman or solar construction project manager.
  • Proven communication skills —verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated understanding of all UL listed photovoltaic equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant NEC sections.
  • Detail oriented mindset with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer application skills including PVSyst, Excel, AutoCAD and MS Office.
