Account Representative

We are looking for candidates with a passion to sell solar solutions to solar installers and developers nationwide.  Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of solar equipment sales and/or solar installation experience with an interest to succeed in a phone sales environment. 

Location: San Francisco, CA 
Reports To: Director of Sales 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Execute sales of solar electric power systems and related products and services to solar installers, developers, and property owners.
  • Evaluate the customer’s energy needs, available space, shading issues, electrical service limitations, and aesthetic concerns to arrive at a suitable recommendation for the solar electric system size and configuration. 
  • Identify, isolate and overcome customer concerns and objections. 
  • Accurately execute all contractual documents with customer including paperwork associated with procuring solar equipment. 
  • Prepare a roof sketch with measurements and build project quotes.
  • Follow-up with prospective customers, give an accounting of specific status of all leads and produce regular sales reports. 
  • Aid in performance of customer contact functions throughout permitting and installation processes. 
  • Support the company in assuring customer satisfaction. 
  • Aid in retrieval of customer payments.
  • Attend company meetings, work trade shows, attend seminars and perform other sales related functions as needed. 

The successful candidate is likely to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience installing solar equipment and/or experience selling solar projects.
  • Proven communicator—verbal and written. 
  • Demonstrated ability to close sales orders. 
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. 
  • Strong computer application skills including PowerPoint, Excel and MS Office.

Logistics Specialist

We are looking for candidates with the proven ability to manage the diverse logistical demands of a distribution business.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage logistical operations, including shipments and deliveries.
  • Effectively communicate logistical updates both internally and externally.
  • Accurately execute all logistics operations in accordance with customer and team needs.
  • Manage all requisite customs declarations on international shipments.
  • Provide timely and accurate logistics support for CivicSolar team.

Drupal Developer

We are seeking a well-rounded, jack-of-all trades, web developer with the following qualities:

  • Solid XHTML/CSS/Javascript skills
  • Solid LAMP programming experience
  • Experience using the command line
  • Experience with the Drupal theming layer
  • Some understanding of the Drupal framework and it’s various APIs
  • Basic experience writing custom Drupal modules
  • A good attitude and an eagerness to learn best practices Drupal development in a group setting
  • Understanding of version control concepts, Subversion preferred
  • Appreciation of quality UI design
  • Availability to work in-house (Downtown San Francisco) a minimum of three days a week. Some off-site is OK

Electrical Engineer

Position Title: Electrical Engineer

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide detailed electrical designs for commercial and utility-scale photovoltaic power projects
  • Assist project managers by resolving technical issues relating to electrical construction and
  • interconnection
  • Specify appropriate components, prepare Bills of Material, develop cost estimates and identify suitable
  • vendors
  • Provide inspection and troubleshooting in the field
  • Interface with electrical contractors and building authorities
  • Prepare calculations and drawings for permitting and approvals in accordance with NEC and applicable
  • building codes
  • Support sales and proposal activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience performing electrical power system design
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required
  • PE certification in Electrical Engineering required
  • PE certification in California preferred
  • Experience working in the commercial construction industry and/or solar industry preferred
  • Strong organizational skills to manage the activities required in the design and permitting of solar electric
  • systems
  • A personal commitment to a safe working environment
  • Strong computer application skills including MS Office Suite; Power Point, Excel and Word
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
  • Detail oriented, organized, with effective communication skills

Product Marketing Intern

Reports To: Product Manager

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales activities of the company through keeping the content in the website up-to-date, particularly product merchandising, pricing and availability of products from multiple vendors.
  • Evaluate the customers' energy needs, available space, shading issues, electrical service limitations, and aesthetic concerns to arrive at a suitable recommendation for the solar electric system size and configuration.
  • Support the sales team in designing effective solar calculators, tools, tables, charts and other platforms which will help generating revenues.
  • Support the efforts of the sales team for the sales of solar electric power systems and related products and services the company may offer.
  • Evaluate the customers' energy needs, available space, shading issues, electrical service limitations, and aesthetic concerns to arrive at a suitable recommendation for the solar electric system size and configuration.
  • Perform research and analysis on products while answering customers' technical questions and gathering reports.
  • Attend company meetings, work trade shows, attend seminars and perform other sales related functions as needed.

Requirements:

  • Studying towards a degree in engineering, science, economics or equivalent majors.
  • Proven communicator—verbal and written.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer application skills including PowerPoint, Excel and MS Office.
  • Knowledge on any programming language is a plus.
  • Experience in solar PV market and projects is a plus.
